  • Description: Anestis is a hearty man, whom everyone winds round their little finger – a cuff-collector, as they call him. His buddy Pantelis is the one who mostly takes advantage of him. One day, he believes he has acquired the supernatural powers he always dreamed of, thanks to some very special pills that a medical student and friend of his, Filimon, provided him. Thus, he is no longer the local patsy but stands up to everyone: first of all to the tough guys working for Aristos, who has his eyes on Mr. Meletis’ coffee house. Mr. Meletis is the father of sweet Niki, who has been secretly in love with Anestis, but he isn’t aware of it, as he is infatuated with lively Marianna, a singer with ambitions of movie-stardom. Later on, Anestis also manages to put some sense in his bosses, two high-caliber crooks who swindle people’s money by selling them non-existent apartments. His grand trophy, however, is Niki. In reality, those magic pills were just aspirins (as we learn from a pharmacologic study). Nevertheless, they performed their miracle, since the cuff-collector believed in them.
